Carr Textile News

Over the last several months, we have been researching new colors to develop for our fabric lines. The earth tone color family has dominated the color palette now for several years.

After doing extensive market research, we discovered that there is a demand for brighter shades. While the earth tones will still continue to be popular, look around and you will start to see more bright shades pop up in all the areas of fashion. Don't be left behind and lose an order because these new colors were not in your line. We have added specific colors to the Chino Twill and Poly/Cotton Twill Lines that we feel will be important going into the next year. New colors as follows:

Chino Twill - Maize, Light Blue, Pink, Gold, Slate, Red, Sage, Taupe, Nutmeg, PFD (Prepare For garment Dye), Natural.

Poly/Cotton Twill - Ivory, Cream, Antique Gold, Buttercup, Sky Blue, Vegas Gold, Cardinal Red. We have also softened our hand standard across the board on our Poly/Cotton Twill Program. The trend in the industry is demanding a softer hand rather than the traditional firmer hand.

These new color cards along with our entire fabric line can be viewed on our website at www.carrtextile.com. We have received many positive comments that our website is an excellent resource for your customer to view all the color selections available. Please take advantage of this resource.

Other notes: Royal Blue Distressed Twill has been discontinued.

MILL UPDATES
Due to mill closures and an effort to maximize quality and maintain current pricing, we are now running some of our product lines at new mills. You may notice slight fabric and packaging variations from mill to mill. Please remember, as always, to test and inspect goods before cutting. As with any fabric, Garment Washers should wash a test piece of fabric prior to cutting to check for color change and shrinkage. We are confident that you will like the new fabrics!

DISCONTINUED PRODUCTS
The following sweatband components have been discontinued from stock:
1) Khaki and Natural Cotton 64x56 (New Tan and Putty will be substituted).
2) Gray and Kelly Felt (White or Black Felt will be substituted).
3) Spruce, Columbia Blue, and Brown Non-Woven Backing (White or Black will be substituted).
4) Clear Plastic (White or Black Vinyl will be substituted).

930340 Haircloth will no longer be available in our Front Stiffener line. Look to the EVA1 or EVA PRO as a substitute for this fusible monofilament.

T100 Light Tearaway will be available in 2,000-yard cases.

Poly Cotton Twill Stock Color Additions
Two new Military approved colors have been added to our 65/35 Poly/ Cotton Twill program which are Marine Corps Khaki and Olive Drab. The Marine Corps Khaki color goes to the yellow side of our Tan Poly/ Cotton Twill while the Olive Drab includes more yellow and less brown than the Olive Poly/ Cotton Twill. Sample and production yardage available now!

Changes to Product lines
The Distressed Fabric programs are moving to a new mill. You may notice variations in color or the distressing technique on Distressed Twill and Washdown Distressed Denim. The new production will be warehoused in Chaffee, MO. Dye load sizes on special dye lots have decreased to 1,300 yards on Distressed Twill and 900 yards on Washdown Distressed Denim.

Production of most styles in our Embroidery Backing line have moved to a new production mill. The Tear-Away & Cut-Away will continue to be a top quality wet laid product. You may notice a slight variation in hand to the new mill as we work in to our new stock.

Discontinued Stock Colors
The following stock items in our Fabric Programs will be discontinued upon stock depletion. Special dye lots are available.

1. The eight colors on our EZ-EE Twill Program will be discontinued upon depletion of stock. Comparable colors in our Chino Twill Program are available for White, Black, Navy, Stone (Ivory in Chino), and Khaki. Natural will be added as a new color to the 24 color Chino Twill Program. The Forest Green E-ZEE Twill color will be discontinued. As stock runs out on E-ZEE Twill, we will substitute the comparable colors in our Chino Twill Program. The Chino Twill has the same woven construction as the E-ZEE Twill. However, slight variations in shade could be noticeable from a comparable E-ZEE Twill color to a Chino Twill color. If you would like a sample card of the Chino Twill or head-end to evaluate the Chino Twill, please call Customer Service or your Sales Representative.

2. Flat Twill 7oz. program, 100% Cotton. All five colors.

3. Jade and Teal Tri-Blend Acrylic/Wool Serge, as well as Moss (240 yds) and Heather Gray (400 yds) in Head-Quarters

CAP COMPONENT NEWS

EVA PRO Introduction
EVA PRO is a new front stiffener designed to give a Pro-Style Cap look and performance. The EVA PRO features a .35 mm monofilament which is the largest offered in our EVA line. The larger monofilament provides maximum resilience and durability. The high performance easy bonding EVA coating is a feature on the EVA PRO. The EVA PRO is offered in three colors: White, Natural, and Salt & Pepper. The EVA PRO offers an exceptional value for the price of $3.25 per yard, F.O.B. Chaffee, MO. A sample card is enclosed. This medium weight, 8.5 ounce, 100% Cotton, 2 x 2 basket weave, 60" wide, Brushed before dyeing fabric makes an exciting addition to your apparel or cap line. Reversibility allows this product to be marketed as a flat or sanded fabric. Even more, Carr-go is preshrunk, leaving only 3-5% shrinkage. This product replaces our 10 oz. Two Way Stretch Elastic Sweatband:
Black and White Stretch Elastic Sweatband is now available in 1 ¼" width. Revolutionary in design, this weave stretches in both the length and width, allowing you to differentiate your stretch caps from the imports. Pricing and samples available upon request.

60 X 60 Poly/Cotton Fusible Sheeting- style phase-out
Don't worry! White EVA 4040 makes an excellent substitute for the discontinued 60x60 sheeting. EVA 4040 is a 60" wide, 65% Poly/35% Cotton blend cap stiffener/interlining with an EVA heat fusible coating. By bulking up relaxed cap front panels with 4040, your product will look its best right out of the box. Additionally, its 65% Poly Blend will help maintain that look wash after wash. The 2.5 oz. style #2525 is offered in 13 colors and utilizes a firm finish that crosses over into numerous applications requiring additional structure. The 4.5 oz is available in 8 different colors and adds bulk with great memory retention. Even when folded, the 4.5 oz. SL45 springs back to its original shape without creasing.

New Tearaways

T100 - An excellent economy 1 oz. Tearaway backing designed for lower density stitch counts (5M) on knits, towels, etc.

T120 - Mostly used on lower to medium stitch counts (10M), for both light and medium fabrics.

T150-Black - One of our most popular styles is now also available in black for dark material.

T250 - Perfectly suited for high stitch count products. Using one layer of our 2.5 oz. backing reduces the possibility of puckering caused by multiple layers slipping. Offers great stability for caps!

Solvy - Water soluble embroidery topping material. Supports stitches from the top of the fabric. Perfect for terry and polar fleece.

New Cutaways

C125 - An excellent, economically priced soft Cutaway for lightweight applications.

C200 - Extremely versatile, and very soft, this 2.0 oz. Cutaway is a good choice for medium and heavy stitch counts on golf shirts, sweatshirts, etc.

C300 - Very soft, heavy weight, non-directional backing designed for high stitch counts on full fronts, left chest, fleece, knits, and low profile caps. Perfect for those hard-to-do jobs! Replaces the discontinued C320.

Coolmax Stretch Elastic Sweatband

Our #330, 1 ¼" CoolMax Stretch Sweatband has a Heather Gray CoolMax yarn woven directly into the band to pull away the maximum amount of moisture. Your stretch caps will dry faster and feel cooler than any other elastic sweatband cap on the market! Works great with our Stretch Chino Twill and Stretch Poly/Wool Serge fabrics. White, Khaki, and Black available in 500 yard increments on a custom order basis. Samples available upon request.

Extra Wide 13/16" Hook and Loop Backstrap

Wider is better. Making "baseball" sun visors? Try one of our 13/16" Hook and Loop backstraps. We offer this sturdy strap custom made in our in-stock fabrics or supply your own. Either way, let us show you how good your caps and visors look with this thicker strap.

"Putty" Cotton Binding

The latest in our 19 color, 100% cotton sheeting program is now available in 48" piece goods, sweatband or bias cut to your width. Exhibiting a 64 x 56 thread quality, it's a great upgrade over Tricot. Call for samples.

Cap Tips

· To hold their curve even better, try rubber banding the visor board of your finished caps before shipping. We have learned that this is what the imports are doing.
· Add the personal touch…you can embroider your name or logo on our one-piece backstraps. They will look great!!
